Another weekend, another giveaway. We’ve given out about nine prizes throughout this site’s run (about a month) and we still have some prizes left to give away! So if you’ve yet to win a prize, get back in here and try your luck again.
This go around we’re going to be giving away a Steam copy of Total War: Shogun 2, one of the most anticipated Total War releases in its entire franchise. Not only that, but I hear the game is pretty good too. If you’ve been sorely lacking in a great RTS game to boot up and enjoy, then this is the giveaway for you.
We’re not looking for much from you guys. Just comment on this article with your Steam ID OR Tweet us your ID (@Smooth_Town) OR comment on the official contest status update on our Facebook (facebook.com/SmoothTown). Contest ends around midnight (EST) tomorrow night (4/29). We’ll decide the winners between then and the following Monday (4/30) morning which we will then look to contact the winner and then formally announce the winner.
UPDATE! This isn’t the first time we were called out on being “fake” or delaying the announcement of the winners. What we actually do is once we have selected (randomly mind you) a winner, we then try to contact that lucky person so that we know for sure that the person was a legitimate human being and give the prize through Steam (as it was in this case). After a certain period of time, if that randomly picked winner doesn’t respond we will then choose another person again completely at random and the timer begins anew. Because of this, we don’t feel it is completely necessary to keep announcing winners because of the potential that all announced just don’t accept the prize. However, because of at least one person claiming us to be fraudulent, we are now announcing that the user with the Steam profile of Tyromancer was our first winner. Any further updates will be posted here.
UPDATE TWO! Tyromancer has received the gift. Congrats to him and thanks to everyone who participated.
Spread the word, tell your friends, family and loved ones. We here at Smooth Town really want to go big (screw going home!) and we can’t do it without the support of everyone out there. We’ve gotten this far; we can still go bigger. Plus, the bigger Smooth Town gets, the more giveaways we’ll be able to do because I heard a little rumor that our giveaways might end pretty soon!
